The Big Day!

I am going backwards a little and I have to apologize.... it has been a very crazy day. We started with a 6:30am wake-up and we are now just getting ready for bed and it is 10:40pm. We have just arrived home from dinner with Nora and Marcel and the Cross Family. Unfortunately the Donovan-Hebert's couldn't join us tonight as they were with extended family that joined them for the trip. We were all together in spirit, of course.

I am going to go back a few steps and recap our day and what a day it was..... we all headed to the dance hall to meet Nora our dance teacher, that is where she warmed them up for their first dance. The first round started and all the girls got it out on the dance floor, got their nerves out too!

The second round came around a couple of hours later and the girls were thrilled to put their Hornpipes and Reels behind them for another year. They will have to learn two new dances for Nationals in July.

Unfortunately none of our NPIDA girls recalled today but we are extremely happy for our Canadian friend who not only recalled but placed 8th in the World.

Michael Flatley was there tonight at the awards ceremony and he had some profound words for all the absolutely amazing dancers.... he said that it takes an amazing amount of commitment from the first place winners but that all of the dancers are winners just by qualifying and being here at Worlds. Also that they are the top 1% in the World just to have qualified to be here competing this week.

As parents we are so proud of our kids, we express that over and over again day in and day out. But we have a new perspective after today, I mean all of us. Goals were achieved today, new goals were set and memories that we will cherish forever.

Thank you to everyone for following our Worlds journey, your support means so much to all of us!
